Should your own team run your Power Pages portal? Sometimes, yes. Here is my honest take, as someone who sells the alternative.
Keep it in-house if three things are true. Someone on your team has real Power Pages experience, not just Power Apps: the security model, authentication and site configuration work differently from internal apps. The portal changes every week and is core to your business. And that person has dedicated time for it, not "on the side".
Bring in a specialist if the portal is stable but business-critical, if its know-how left with a colleague or with the partner who built it, or if small fixes keep piling up because nobody has time for them. A stable portal is exactly the one that gets forgotten, until something changes underneath it.
Often the best answer is both. Your team handles the daily changes. A specialist reviews security, updates and configuration every month. You keep control without carrying the risk alone. That is the idea behind Power Pages Care: it doesn't replace your team, it gives them a second pair of eyes and a monthly written report.
So where are you today: your team, a specialist, or both?
Not sure where you stand? Get in touch. You get an honest answer, even if it is "you don't need me".
