On August 14, Microsoft quietly announced a deadline. By September 14, an old shortcut in the Power Pages Web API configuration stops working, and any site still using it stops exposing the right data.
My maintenance clients found out on August 14. The same day, already with a fix scheduled.
Everyone else finds out on September 14, when something breaks and nobody knows why yet.
That is the actual proof a maintenance contract is worth something. Not the sales pitch. Whoever is watching your portal reads the same Microsoft release notes I do, the same day, and moves before you ever have to notice.
If nobody sent you anything about this in the last two weeks, that answers whether you actually need someone watching.
